Time to Celebrate! Watercolor Wishes Card Kit

Happy Memorial Day!  I hope you are having a great weekend!  I decided to celebrate with a little red, white, and blue on a glittery star card!  The blue star is made with a sponge with Night of Navy ink on Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Isn't it great that you can make that glimmer paper any color you want?!?!

The words have a nice curve to them.  It's one of the things I love about photopolymer stamps- You can make them curve or bend to get just the look you want on your card!

And after you've punched out those stars, what are you going to do with the scrap of glimmer paper?  Don't throw it away!  Use it as a stencil!  Just place it where you want a star on a project, and use the negative space (that you punched out) to sponge a star!

stamps: Watercolor Wishes Card Kit
ink: Night of Navy

A Little Something For You!

Here's just a little something for you... A quick and easy card!  This is a great card when you are going to a birthday party in an hour and forgot to make a card!

I made the corners by snipping off one corner at a diagonal.  The I traced the diagonal on the back side of the card on the other 3 sides, and snipped them off.  The corners are all even, and I could do it without a punch!

stamps: Party Wishes
paper: Real Red, Whisper White
ink: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black

May Paper Pumpkin-Many Manly Occasions

I knew when I saw the sneak-peek of the Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin kit that I was going to love it!  The laser-cut fronts are so amazing!  Now you could, of course, just make the cards shown in the kit and you would have some amazing cards!  But I wanted to play around and see what else I could come up with.  The card, above, uses the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper  behind the laser-cut front.  A little Cucumber Crush Thick Baker's Twine (available in the 2016-2017 catalog) adds a nice finishing touch!

Although it was hard to pull myself away from the card bases included with the kit, I did so I could make a card with the adorable HAPPY stickers included with the kit.  Quick and easy!

The orange background on this card is included in the kit.  It is a corrugated cardboard, and is very thin (like the corrugated cardboard in the 2015-2016 catalog).  The Party Punch Pack (retiring on May 31st) was just what I needed to add some Night of Navy candles!

Christmas probably wasn't the first thing that came to mind when you saw this kit.  But some Silver Glimmer Paper, Brights Candy Dots, and Iced Rhinestone Embellishments get you right into the holiday spirit.  It's never too early to start your Christmas cards!

I plan on Paper Pumpkining again soon, so watch for some more card ideas!

Self-Closing Box

I love a cute little box to add to a customer's order as a thank you.  But I don't love a box that takes a zillion hours to make!  I found this adorable (and easy!) self-closing box on another demonstrator's blog (www.allthingsstampy.co.uk).  Head over there and search "self-closing box" to get the pattern.

I used the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper for the box.  The bright colors were the perfect way to add a lot of pop, without a lot of extra work.  I love how Designer Series Paper can do that to a project!  This paper is retiring at the end of May, so snatch some up if you haven't already!

The straight folds are super easy, especially on the Simply Scored tool.  The diagonal folds are done by hand with a bone folder.  Then you just fold, use Tear & Tape to seal the bottom and sides, and fill it with some goodies.  There's chocolate in mine, of course!  Wrapped in Designer Series Paper!

If you ordered from my Spring Stamp-A-Stack you will find one of these boxes (and the pattern!) in your bag.  Enjoy!

stamps: Apple of My Eye  ink: Cajun Craze
paper: Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
accessories: 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, 1 1/2" circle punch, 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon Basic Black, 1/4" circle punch, Simply Scored, bone folder, Tear & Tape, Fast Fuse

Say HELLO! to the NEW Stamping' Up! catalog!

Hello!  Hello!  New Stamping' Up! catalog!!

I had fun creating this card with some great new products!  I stamped the word Hello (from the new stamp set Pop of Paradise) in Dapper Denim (new In Color), and then punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch.  Then I used Snail to attach it to the paper swirl (from the new thinlits- Swirly Scribbles).  The Silicone Craft Sheet came in handy with this, so my circles didn't stick to my table!  The I added dimensionals to the back to pop it out.  Those cute little circles on the gold foil sheet are from the Swirly Scribbles, too!

I love the way that swirly circle pops out!

stamps: Pop of Paradise
ink: Dapper Denim
paper: Dapper Denim (4 1/4" x 11 and 1 1/2" x 4 1/2"), Whisper White (3 1/2" x 4 3/4"), Gold Foil Sheets (3 1/4" x 4 1/2"), Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (1 1/4" x 4 1/2")
accessories: medium Whisper White envelope, Big Shot, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, 1  3/8" circle punch,  3/8" ruched ribbon Dapper Denim, dimensionals, mini glue dots, silicone craft sheet

I was having so much fun with Swirly Scribbles that I decided to make the same card in Melon Mambo!

But one paper swirl wasn't enough on this card...I had to add a Basic Black AND a Melon Mambo swirl!  One is bigger and one is smaller.  It coordinates perfectly with the new Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper!

Look at those swirls just popping off that card!  This card is sure to brighten anyone's day!

stamps: Pop of Paradise
ink: Archival Basic Black
paper: Melon Mambo (4 1/4" x 11), Whisper White (3 1/4" x 4 1/2"), Basic Black (3 1/2" x 4 3/4" and 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" and 1/4" x 1 1/2"), Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (1 1/4" x 4 1/2")
accessories: medium Whisper White envelope, Big Shot, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, 1 3/8" circle punch, Brights Sequins Assortment, dimensionals, Fine Tip Glue Pen, silicone craft sheet

Do you LOVE Watercolor Words?

Yes, I love the Watercolor Words stamp set!  It's a great go-to stamp set for any occasion!  It looks like someone just took a paintbrush and drew the shapes and words.  So fun and versatile!  On this card I sponged around the single heart, and then added some sponging on the corrugated paper (retiring    May 31st).  It make the lines pop out just enough to add some color and texture.  I find the best way to attach the corrugated paper is to use Fast Fuse.

There's a lot of people I love, so it will be hard deciding who will get this card.  I'm sure whoever gets it will be happy...opening the mailbox and finding a little love is always more fun than a bill!

I changed things up a little and did the same card in a 3 1/4" x 5 3/4" size.  Just make the card stock for the background hearts a little smaller.

2016-2018 In Color Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak-peek at the 2016-2018 In Colors, and the new 3/8" Ruched Ribbon!  It is just a little crinkly, just a little bumpy, and adds a little texture.  So pretty!

Can you pick a favorite new In Color??  I can't!  Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo...  I know I will love them all!

Stamp Club members received this new In Color chart at our last get-together.  It included card stock, ink, and ribbon.

June 1st will be the debut of these great colors to the Stampin' Up family!

Sea Street Bubbles!

The octopus in the Sea Street stamp set always makes me feel happy!  I fussy-cut him out, and the one or two extra minutes was worth it!  He's just hanging out in the ocean, having a good time!

I ripped the top of the Color Me Irresistible paper to look like waves.  I did the same ripping technique with the Crumb Cake to make it look like the ocean bottom.  A little sponging on the Crumb Cake looks like sand!  It makes me ready to head to the beach!

On the Color Me Irresistible paper, I used a sponge and the Soft Sky ink.  I got the best look when I moved the sponge around in circles.  After I was done sponging, I rubbed a paper towel over it to take the excess ink off of the embossed circles.  The epoxy stickers are quick and easy to put on because they already have adhesive on the backs!

That octopus is having a great time swimming around those epoxy stickers!  They look like bubbles in the ocean!  You'll need 2 packages to get this look!

stamps: Sea Street, Six-Sided Sampler
ink: Pacific Point, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake
paper: Pacific Point (4 1/4 x 11), Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Paper (4 x 5 1/4), Crumb Cake (2 x 4), Whisper White
accessories: Whisper White medium envelope, ribbon- Pacific Point 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers, stamping sponge, paper snips.

Stamp Club May 2016

We had our last Stamp Club get-together for this catalog year.  We are all looking forward to summer, but it's always a little sad when Stamp Club won't get together again until the fall.  Good thing we had stamps, good company, and yummy snack to get us through!

I demonstrated this 3 x 3 thank you card.  I don't feel like I give a lot of 3 x 3 cards, but whenever I make some I always find a use for them right away!  The Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper will not be available after May 31st, so make sure you stock up on this gorgeous paper now!

stamps: Another Thank You paper: Mossy Meadow (3 x 6), Whisper White, Botanical Gardens Designer Paper (2 3/4 x 2 3/4) ink: VersaMark accessories: Square Envelopes, punch- scallop oval, punch- banner (punch 2 in Mossy Meadow), heat tool, black embossing powder, embossing buddy, dimensionals
TIP: Use the edge of the scallop oval punch to make ticket-corners

I've never seen a pear that is 100% one color.  So, to add that extra color and a little dimension, we first inked up the pear stamp in So Saffron.  Then we sponged the edges with Pear Pizzazz.  Now THAT'S a pear!  It looks pretty yummy to me!  I don't know if there is a "real" name for this technique, but I'm calling it Stamp and Sponge.

stamps: Apple of My Eye paper: Pear Pizzazz (5 1/2 x 8 1/2, 3 1/4 x 4 1/2), So Saffron (4 x 5 1/4), Very Vanilla (3 x 4 1/4) ink: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Soft Suede
accessories: medium envelope- Very Vanilla, ribbon-1/4” cotton Pear Pizzazz, stamping sponge, dimensionals

I love the way the washi tape makes this flower pop!  My husband, Todd, says a flower doesn't really look like that.  True, but it sure is cute!  Raising the Basic Black card stock with dimensionals is the key to giving it the 3-D look.

stamps: Sassy Salutations paper: Basic Black (5 1/2 x 8 1/2, 3 3/4 x 5), Bermuda Bay (4 x 5 1/4), Pool Party (2 1/2 x 2 1/2 for washi tape), Cucumber Crush ink: Archival Basic Black accessories: medium envelope-Whisper White, punch- Fun Flower, punch- ½” circle
punch-extra large oval, Washi Tape- Cherry on Top, candy dots-Brights, dimensionals, mini glue dots

Does the top of this card look like an alligator, or what?!  No surprise to find out it's called the Faux Alligator technique!  It's easy to do: Just get VersaMark ink all over the card stock you want to have this look.  Then pour clear embossing powder all over it.  Before heating, run a bone folder through the embossing folder to create the lines.  There's no need to make sure you are making straight lines.  You can also try writing words, making stars...  Use your imagination for this fun technique!

stamps: Going Global
  paper: Soft Suede (5 1/2 x 8 1/2, 1 1/4 x 5), Marina Mist (4 x 5 1/4)
Mossy Meadow (3 3/4 x 5, 1 x 5) ink: Mossy Meadow, VersaMark
accessories: medium envelope-Very Vanilla, punch- 2” circle, punch- 2 ½” circle, punch- large oval, heat tool, clear embossing powder, bone folder, 1/8” mini brads, paper piercer and mat, dimensionals
