Ribbon Tree Card

This card was the inspiration for the gift tag card we made at the November Stamp Club.

November 2012 Stamp Club

One make-n-take at the November Stamp Club meeting was this ribbon tree card.  Punch out the ribbon with the Holiday Collection Framelits.  Attach ribbon to the back, and then a Champagne Glimmer Paper star!  A perfect little (3 x 3) gift tag or note card!

Circle Circus is the highlight of this card.  Stamp the images, punch out, and then layer on some River Rock card stock.  And, of course, add a little shine with Champagne Glimmer paper!  The 'thank you" stamp is a single stamp (and also available as a set).

This snowman is WAY more excited about the coming snow than I am!!  Punch 3 circles, sponge with Early Espresso, and attach to some Core'dinations card stock that has been embossed with the Northern Flurries embossing folder.  The nose is made by using the edge of a square punch.  Make the scarf by attaching a small piece of ribbon around the middle circle.  Then flip a larger piece of ribbon over that (or tie a knot and attach with glue dots).

October 2012 Stamp Club

This quilt card was a make-n-take at the October Stamp Club.  Layer 2 pieces of cs that are 2 5/8" (one is a square and one is a triangle).  Punch 4 pieces of cs and 4 pieces of DSP with the 1 1/4" square punch.  Attach a piece of DSP so it is in the top point.  Don't use a lot of adhesive because you'll need to get some cs under it later.  Go counterclockwise around the quilt base, attaching cs or DSP so it is in the pointy part of the quilt base.  When you get to the last piece, slide it under the first piece of DSP.  It sounds much harder than it actually is!

This spooky spider card was also a make-n-take!  Love those wiggly eyes!  Ink up the embossing folder with ink (we used Whisper White Craft) before you run it through the Big Shot to get this effect.

The card, above, was a make-n-take using the 1 1/4" scallop circle punch.  The strips of paper are all 1 1/8" wide.  The lengths are: 3 7/8", 3 1/8", 2 1/8".  The strips of paper are attached with dimensionals.  The scallop circles are attached directly to the card.

The other cards you see are alternatives to the make-n-takes.  Just changing the colors of a card makes it look totally different!

Paula's party October 2012

For this make-n-take, we used Natural Composition Specialty paper for the background.  It's such pretty paper!  It is embossed in clear and adds a special touch to the card.  I love the way the Gossamer Lace stamp can be used in so many ways!

The other make-n-take we did at the party was a quick and easy card made with Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP from the Holiday catalog.  The DSP adds so much that a small stamped image (from Mixed Medley-hostess) and some Basic Black taffeta ribbon was all that was needed to finish things off!  As you can see by the samples below, just changing the DSP makes this card design very versatile!

On the card (above) that I demonstrated, I used a blender pen to add some color to the inside of the leaf (Lacy and Lovely).  I stamped Thank You on the 7/8" cotton ribbon from the Holiday catalog.  A little sanded Core'dinations Early Espresso cs and some Basics Glimmer brads finished it off!

Halloween Bag

My mother-in-law asked me to make some Halloween bags.  She doesn't have any trick-or-treaters stop by, but she does have a few grandchildren in the area that always visit and say, "Boo!" to Grandma on Halloween!  Todd and I went to Target and found these bags.  I removed the bright pink ribbon and replaced it with a more Halloweeny black.  Then I stamped away!  The pumpkins and words are retired and the bats and googly-eye guy are from the Googly Ghouls set in the Holiday catalog.  For the grass I just cut a 1 1/2" strip of Garden Green and sniped the top.  They looked so cute on the shelf I had them on, I almost didn't want to give them to her!  :)

Christmas Stamp-A-Stack October 2012

You will make 3 of the card above at the Christmas Stamp-A-Stack (more info below).  This quick and easy card looks like it has multiple layers...but it's just the card base and a piece of naturals white!

I love the way the tree flips up on this card!!  You will make 3 of these.

Glimmer paper!!! It's so pretty!  You will make 1 of the card above.

DSP makes this card easy!  There's no way I would ever stamp all of those red and green circles.  But I sure like the way it looks!  You will make 3 of this card.

 Stamp-A-Stack registration info
The Christmas Stamp-A-Stack will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at Mountain Bay School.  You will stamp 10 cards with envelopes.   The RSVP deadline is October 10th.

Stamp Club September 2012

Stamp Club members made this card with Howlstooth & Scaring bone DSP, as well as Champagne Glimmer Paper.  The black squares are 2 1/2" and the DSP is 2 3/8".

Take some Early Espresso Coredinations paper and rip the edges.  Then crumple it and sand the top.  It's a great way to get a rustic look!

Two of the stamps from Daydream Medallions were stamped with Whisper White and then embossed.  This ribbon is part of the September special, "Back to Spool".

Christmas in August-Roxie's party

This ornament is a very simplified version of the ornament on the 2012 Holiday catalog. These ornaments are fun to make, but a little time consuming. Once you make one, though, you'll want to make more!

Lovely as a Tree is a great stamp set for holiday/winter cards! To make the moon, I stamped the trees, punched a circle of a post-it to use as a mask, then sponged with Tempting Turquoise. Remove the mask and you have a moon! The glimmer in the snow is Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle from the Holiday catalog.

The tree on this card is 3-D! Stamp and punch three times, fold in half, and attach together. This is the same technique that was used on the ornament.

Triple Time Stamping!!! This technique is quick and easy to do. Layer the lighter card stock with a small amount of adhesive. Then stamp, stamp, stamp! Take the layers apart and attach to a slightly larger piece of coordinating card stock. There are so many stamp sets that this would look great with!

Faux Quilt Card

This quilt card is fun and (pretty) easy to make! I used the card stock background color and layered squares of DSP and a coordinating color on top of them.

Reason to Smile Party

The Reason to Smile set is so fun to stamp with! I used that set to make the card, above!

I used a paper daisy on the card, above. Don't have paper daisies?? Punch out a scallop circle, snip in at each scallop, sponge on ink, and curl the edges with a bone folder. It makes a pretty flower, too!

This card, above, uses a technique called Triple Time Stamping. Layer all of the white pieces of card stock on top of each other, using a small amount of adhesive. Stamp the words and then the flowers. Separate the pieces of white card stock, and layer on the colored card stock. Quick, easy, and fun! I bet you have a flower set at home that you could do this technique with tonight!

This card was also a make-n-take. I'm loving the new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack!

I am Creative class banner

I went to the I am Creative class at the Stampin' Up! convention. We made this fabulous banner. Each banner uses a different technique that a concept artist at SU showed during the class. I can't wait to make some more banners for Fall, Christmas, etc!

Convention 2012

The Stampin' Up! Convention is fantastic again this year! I can't wait to show you the things I am learning!!! One of the classes I took at Convention 2012 is "I am Doing Business My Way". Bonnie Thurber from the home office lead the discussion between two SU demonstrators (Tami White and Ronda Wade) about different types of events they hold. I can't wait to try some of their ideas out and make stamping even more fun than ever!

Coming in July!

This card uses the Reason to Smile set (available only in July!!) and Curly Cute. The cs is Always Artichoke, River Rock, and Whisper White.

I got a new (used by Todd) printer and wanted to make sure I could scan. I thought a little preview of July would be a good thing to scan!

New Catalog Workshop 2012

The leaf card (100% CASEed), above, and the Happy Birthday card, below, were both make-n-takes at the New Catalog Workshops on June 1st and 2nd.

I embossed the leaf on the card, above, using the new firm foam pad. It is so juicy that if you stamp and immediately put embossing powder on, it will stick! This card is 90% CASEed. :)

I went to the SU Regionals this past winter and this gift card holder was given to me as a swap. It is so easy to make! One piece of card stock is 5 7/8 x 4 1/4, scored at 2" and 5". The other is 3 7/8 x 4 1/4, scored at 3". The two pieces are attached with Sticky Strip where the shorter folds are. You can then decorate and slip a gift card in. It's a quick and easy way to fancy up a gift card!

Contact me if you are interested in getting a new SU catalog, or if you would like to have a party!
