New Catalog Workshop 2013

The first card I demonstrated at the New Catalog Workshop was quick and easy. First, I taped together 3 pieces of card stock (1 3/4 x 4) in some yummy new colors (Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantelope) and some old favorites (Soft Suede and Very Vanilla).  I ran the Gingham wheel across the top, and added a flower made with the Fancy Flower punch.  The only ink color used was Soft Suede!

I also demonstrated the card, above, at the New Catalog.  The Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and Whisper White look great together!  I used two new stamps sets on it (Chalk Talk and Mosaic Madness), as well as a new embossing folder (Modern Mosaic) and a new punch (Mosaic).  The Blossom punch behind the words really makes them pop!

The Wildflower Meadow card is all about Rose Red (with a little Smoky Slate thrown in the mix, too!).  After stamping the flowers, we ran them through the Big Shot with the coordinating Wildflower Meadow embossing folder.  We added some Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle in the center of the flowers.  The words are from Banner Greetings, a hostess set).

Label Love was the stamp set used for the last make-n-take.  We stamped the words with StazOn jet black and attached to the embossed Coastal Cabana card stock.  Some pumpkin pie ribbon on the Crushed Curry card stock, a button from Sweet Buttons embosslits, and our card was done!

Happy Stamping!

Stamping Fun Night May 2013

The card, above, uses the Moving Forward stamp set (sales benefit Ronald McDonald House) which will be retiring at the end of the month.  Midnight Muse and Pool Party are the colors.  There's a little bling, too, with a 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Details glitter.  We used the Chevron embossing folder on both of the cards.

We made not one, but FOUR cards like the one above.  They are made from 2 sheets of Wild Wasabi card stock, and one sheet of Whisper White card stock divided into quarters (plus some extra Whisper White and Wild Wasabi/Calypso Coral/So Saffron/Marina Mist for the words).

This card was CASEed from simplysimplestamping.com (March 8, 2012, More Bang for You Buck).

Directions:
  • Stamp each of the quarter sheets of white card stock with a different color and stamp.
  • Run each sheet through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.
  • Cut each stamped/embossed sheet into the following sizes:
    • 2 3/4 x 3 3/4
    • 2 3/4 x 1 1/2
    • 1 1/4 x 1 1/2
    • 1 1/4 x 3 3/4
  • Arrange on card base and attach words with dimensionals.

Bonnie's Party- May 2013

The card, above, uses a sneak peek stamp set- A Round Array.  Pretty in Pink (card stock and ribbon on this card) are retiring at the end of May.

I used the NEW photopolymer stamp set to make the card, above.  You can make the banner curve, and they are completely clear so you see exactly where you're stamping!  Midnight Muse stars on this card.  The brads (Regals) are retiring at the end of May.

This card, above, was a make-n-take.  We used the Big Shot, the paper piercer and Essentials piercing mat, and watercolored with blender pens and ink from the ink pad covers.  Perfect Plum is here to stay, but the ribbon is saying goodbye at the end of May.

The last card, above, was also a make-n-take.  First we embossed the Quint-Essential flower on white card stock with clear embossing powder.  Then we used sponges and ink to add color.  We rubbed off the excess ink (it won't stick to the embossed areas) and added a brad. Good thing Bonnie had a scallop circle punch in her collection so we didn't have to cut out the flower by hand!  :)

Happy Stamping!

Sara's party- May 2013

We hopped right into stamping at Sara's party!  Garden Green and Summer Starfruit star in this card.  The cute frog is from Moving Forward, the Ronald McDonald House stamp for this year (and only available until the end of May!)

Next was a sneak peek.  The stamp set A Round Array is available now, and will be in the new catalog in June.  The words are from Curly Cute, which is retiring at the end of May.  Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla are used to make this card.  To make the words darker and lighter in color, I simply stamped off before I stamped on the card.

The thank you card, above, was a make-n-take.  It's quick and easy, and can be changed for any occasion with a quick change of color or stamps.  You could make a stack of these in no time!  Bravo Burgundy is a retiring color, but Night of Navy and Summer Starfruit are here to stay.

The other make-n-take uses Perfect Plum.  It makes a great sympathy card (that set is long ago retired), but would also make a beautiful birthday or Mother's Day card.

Where do I get my ideas?  Well, all over!  Sometimes it's from something I see in a store or magazine.  But mostly it's from other people's stamping blogs, or splitcoaststampers.com.  I love to CASE, and I use ideas I see to inspire me to try something new.

Happy Stamping!
