Stamp Club January 2016

The first project I demonstrated was a gift card holder made with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (Free with a $50 order until 3/31/16!).  These mini treat bags are so quick and easy!  And they are a perfect way to give a gift card!

The other project I demonstrated has two fun techniques: a glitter window and embossing on vellum.  The card makes me think that winter is maybe kind-of ok!  :)  At least it is pretty!  Here is what I used:
stamps:
Lovely as a Tree
Flurry of Wishes
Watercolor Wings
paper:
Early Espresso
Soft Sky
Whisper White
         (2 ¼ x 3 ¼ )
white vellum card stock
ink:
Early Espresso
marker-Soft Sky
Versamark
accessories:
medium envelope- Whisper White
heat tool
embossing buddy
white embossing powder
punch-Snow Flurry
Big Shot
Hearth and Home Thinlits
Precision Base Plate
glitter- Dazzling Diamonds
mini glue dots
dimensionals
silicone craft sheet

clear packing tape

TIPS:
-Put packing tape on the back of the window.  Use the silicone sheet so it doesn’t stick.  Flip over and add glitter.

One of the cards Stamp Club members made was this Stained Glass Technique card.  Stamp the image on vellum with Craft ink or VersaMark.  Put embossing powder on and heat.  Then flip the vellum over and color on the back with markers.  Don't worry about being perfect, you won't see any little mistakes!  Flip it over and it looks like stained glass.  This looks pretty with a neutral card stock background, but try other colors for different effects.  Here's what we used:
stamps:
Flowering Fields
Party Wishes

paper:
Thick Whisper White
Tangerine Tango
white vellum card stock (2 ¾ x 3 ¾)
Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper

ink:
Craft White
Archival Basic Black
marker-Tangerine Tango
marker- Old Olive

accessories:
medium envelope- Whisper White
Big Shot
Ovals Collection Framelits
magnetic platform
ribbon- ¼” Whisper White
embossing buddy
heat tool
white embossing powder
mini glue dots
Fine Tip Glue Pen

If you're looking to make a guy card, then the Sky is the Limit set is a great one to grab.  And it can be your for FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order!  There is a Wink of Stella on the propeller to give it a little shine.  Wink of Stella is a great way to add some sparkle, mess free!  Here's what we used:
stamps:
Sky is the Limit
         (only available until February 15th)
Timeless Textures

paper:
Basic Black
Tip Top Taupe
Going Places Paper Stack

ink:
Archival Basic Black
Tip Top Taupe

accessories:
medium envelope- Very Vanilla
Wink of Stella clear

TIPS:
-Ink up a texture stamp with Tip Top Taupe, stamp off, and then stamp on the Tip Top Taupe card stock.
-See the Wink of Stella how-to video on you-tube.  Go to www.stampinup.com/occasions-videos.  It has a lot of good tips!

The other card we made would be great for Valentine's Day, a wedding, an anniversary, or just a sweet card to give to someone you love!  The Big Shot Die Brush made getting all of those tiny pieces out of the intricate heart die a snap!  You won't find a stamp that just says "love" in the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit, but I cut one of the stamps apart so it did!  Here's the supply list for this card:
stamps:
Watercolor Wishes Card Kit
paper:
Blackberry Bliss
Very Vanilla
Gold Glimmer Paper
ink:
Blackberry Bliss
accessories:
medium envelope- Very Vanilla
Big Shot
Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies
Precision Base Plate
Big Shot Die Brush
Basic Metal Buttons-Gold
Linen Thread
punch- Project Life Corner
mini glue dots
dimensionals

TIPS:
-Flip the glimmer paper upside-down so the glitter is on the bottom when you cut it. The die will cut through it more easily.
-After you run the Thinlit & paper through the Big Shot (2 times), place it paper side down on the Die Brush mat.  Roll the roller over the die and the pieces will come out!

If you do order the Big Shot Die Brush, make sure you keep the mat that comes with it.  It kind of looks like packing material.  But you'll need it!!

It was a fun night of stamping, visiting, and yummy snacks!  Thanks to Colleen for hosting this month!
Happy Stamping!

Wonderland cards

Here is the bonus card we made at the December Stamping Fun Night.  It was inspired by the card, below, that I found on Mary Fish's website (stampinpretty.com).  I loved the clean layout and how quick and easy it looked.

Well, after I got started with that card, it was hard to stop me!  I made all of these cards this last weekend, using the inspiration I got from that one card!  My to-do list did not get done (Oh well!),but I had a ton of fun coming up with different takes on the same card.  I hope these cards inspire you to get stamping!

Happy Stamping!

Designer Series Paper Scraps

I had some scrap pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that were calling my name.  There wasn't enough there to make a stack of the same cards, but I knew I could make some quick and easy cards.  I hope you get inspired to dig into your scraps of paper and come up with some quick and easy cards, too!

Happy Stamping!
