-Attach words to the front of the card.  Then attach the words on the 2^nd layer so they are hidden behind the 1^st layer.

-Use Stampin’ Seal+ or Tear & Tape to attach the words on the front of the card.

Easy Box Card

Design idea from Dawn Olchefske (dostamping.typepad.com), posted November 8, 2012.

 

·      For the box, use a 8 ½ x 10 ¼ piece of card stock.  Score the long (10 ¼) side at 2 1/8,       3 5/8, 6 5/8, and 8 1/8.

·      Turn and score the short (8 ½) side at 1 ½ and 7.

·      Score diagonals from the center of the 10 ¼ side to the score line below it.

·      Trim off the four corners.

o   Cut from the diagonal to the end, and then cut ONLY the first section (to the first score line).

·      Add Designer Paper to both of the outside panels (each piece will be 1 7/8 x 5 ¼).

·      Stamp and add card stock to the inside (2 ¾ x 5 ¼).

·      Add Tear and Tape to the four small flaps.  Don’t remove the backing yet!

·      Fold top and bottom flaps in, and then on diagonals.

·      Fold other flaps to make a gate fold.

·      Attach flaps (with the Tear and Tape) to the sides of what will become the box.

·      Add ribbon with tag OR belly band to hold the box together.

 

 

Belly Band

·      Cut card stock 1 x 8 ¾.  Score at 2 1/8 and 2 ¼.  Wrap around card.  Add ribbon and stamped tag (My Basic White is 2 x 2).  I used Tear and Tape to attach the tag to the belly band.

TIPS:

-To make a rounded corner without a corner rounder punch, use a penny (or punched circle) to draw a line.  Cut on the line.  Then use an emory board or nail buffing block to smooth out the edges.

-Use a small Velcro circle, or cut a large one in half, to close the gift card holder.

-If you don’t have Designer Paper, make your own by stamping images on card stock! 

Gift Card Holder

·      Cut a piece of card stock 3 ½” x 8 ½”.  

·      Score card stock at 2 ½” on one end and 2” on the other end.

·      Use corner rounder punch to round the corners on the 2” end.  You can also make a rounded end by tracing a part of a penny and cutting off the corner, and/or using a nail file/buffer.

 

·      Cut 3 pieces of designer paper

o   3 ¼” x 1 ¾”

o   3 ¼” x 2 ¼”

o   3 ¼” x 3 ¾”

·      Round the corner of the bottom side of the 1 ¾” piece of designer paper.

 

 

·      Put Tear & Tape (or another strong adhesive) on the edges of the 2 ¼” side of card stock.  Fold up to form the gift card pocket.

 

·      Attach designer paper to outside of gift card holder.

 

·      Add a small Velcro dot to the 2” side and fold down to secure.

 

·      Decorate gift card holder as desired.
