July 2020 Virtual Stamping Fun Night

The card I demonstrated uses a stamped image on velum.  Blends were used to color the birds.  The video below shows how I colored the birds.  I used StazOn on the front and Blends on the back!

This make & take uses a circle shape that was cut from Whisper White card stock, and then both the circle and the white card stock are attached to the card.  I like how the die-cut circle pops off the card a little!

Our other make-n-take used a masking technique.  It is a great way to make it look like you added a layer of card stock, without actually adding another layer of card stock!

Card Box

My mom wanted something to hold birthday, anniversary, etc cards for the upcoming month.  So I made this for her for her birthday!  It was fun and easy to make!  I attached the Designer Paper to Whisper White card stock to give it a little more stability.  I printed the month cards on Whisper White card stock (I’ll email them to you if you want), cut them down so they would fit in the box, and attached them to Basic Black card stock.  If you make a card box, I’d love to see it!  Will you use it like my mom will, for cards to mail out?  Or maybe you’ll use the box for something else!  Have fun!

Card swaps!

For each new catalog, I do a swap with some other SU demonstrators. I make a bunch of the same cards, send them off to the person coordinating the swap, and wait for package of swaps to arrive in the mail.  It’s so much fun to see everyone’s designs and get ideas for lots of different stamp sets!  I hope these swaps inspire you, too!

TIPS:

-Use a small sticky note to mask a square at the bottom.

-Use a ruler to draw the line around the embossed area.

TIPS:

-Cut the Designer Paper 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.  The cut into 3 strips (1 ½”, 1”, 1”).

-The words are on a ¾” x 3 ¼” paper (before punching the end).

-Cut one strip at a time into “puzzle” pieces, and adhere.  If you cut them all, it will be hard to reassemble!

TIPS:

If you don’t have a VersaMark pad, stamp the Just Jade background with a lighter color ink to get a similar effect.  You can also try stamping off if the ink is too dark.
