Stamp Club September 2016

Stamp Club members started the party with a Halloween treat from me!  I made each of them a nugget box, and demonstrated how to make it.  It's a great box for a little treat!

stamps:
My Hero

paper:
Basic Black
Whisper White
Glassine Sheets
*Halloween Night Specialty      Designer Paper

ink:
Pumpkin Pie

accessories:
punch- 1 3/8” circle
punch- 1 ½” circle
Simply Scored
Paper Snips
Tear and Tape

TIPS:
-Make your score lines on the opposite side of the paper that you want showing.
-After you score the paper, fold with a bone folder.  The sharper the crease, the easier it will be to fold the box.

Then we made this fancy fold card!  I love the fall colors, and this one brings those fall colors right on to the card!  I love how the Copper Foil Sheet shimmers!
The folds are at 2" and 3 1/8" from each side.  When the card is folded, it fits in a medium envelope!

stamps:
Totally Trees
Teeny Tiny Wishes

paper:
Early Espresso (5 ½” x 8 ½”)
Pumpkin Pie (1 ¾” x 5 ¼”)
Cajun Craze (3 ¼” x 3 ½”)
Very Vanilla (3 ¼” x 2 ¾” and 2” x 5 ¼”)
Copper Foil Sheets (1/2” x 3 ¼” and 2” x 5 ¼”)

ink:
Early Espresso
Old Olive
Delightful Dijon
Pumpkin Pie
Cajun Craze

accessories:
medium envelope- Very Vanilla
Simply Scored
Big Shot
Seaside embossing folder
Tear and Tape

TIPS:
-Add the small pieces of Copper Foil Sheets to the back of the Very Vanilla card stock before attaching to the Cajun Craze card stock.
-The photopolymer stamps bend easily, so you can make the grass into a hill!

We embossed an image from Flurry of Wishes on vellum.  One trick to stop your vellum from curling is to put tinfoil on a cardboard sheet, place that on a small piece of wood (to protect your table), and then emboss directly on that.  The tinfoil will absorb some of the heat so you are melting the embossing powder with that heat, too.  The embossing powder will melt faster, so there's less time to curl the vellum!  If it's still curling a little, you can flip the card over and put something heavy on it overnight.

Our last card had Christmas-themed Designer Paper and a Christmas stamp set.   But you'd never guess it!  It's fun to look at those papers and stamps and see if there are designs/images that can be used for other occasions!

We used the same materials and came up with 2 great designs!

stamps:
Candy Cane Christmas

paper:
Dapper Denim (4 ¼” x 11” & 1 7/8” x 3 3/8”)
Whisper White (3 7/8 x 5 1/8” and 1 ¾” x 3 ¼”)
Presents and Pinecones Designer Series Paper (3 ¾” x 5”)

ink:
Dapper Denim
marker- Delightful Dijon

accessories:
medium envelope- Whisper White
ribbon- 3/8” Ruched Dapper Denim
stamping sponge
dimensionals

TIP:
-Try layers that are only 1/8” larger/smaller than the other.  Making the layer have just a thin border can change the look of the card!
